A glass jar with a bamboo lid and a clamp that pulls it down onto a seal, so biscuits stay crisp and nuts do not go soft. The glass is moulded rather than plain, so it earns its place on a worktop instead of hiding in a cupboard.

Glass bodies and silicone seals wash normally. Hand-wash any wooden lid and dry it straight away; a dishwasher dries the wood out and splits it.
